KOONTHAL VARUTHATHU

      INGREDIENTS
         Squid-1kg,coconut oil-3 table spoon,mustardseeds-1teaspoon,onion chopped-5,ginger chopped-2''piece,garlic chopped-5flakes,green chillies chopped-3, currry leaves-2sprigs, chilly powder-11/2table spoon,coriander powder-1table spoon,coconut grated-1/2, pepper powder-1/2teaspoon,garam masala-a pinch.
   FOR MARINATION
       Ginger crushed-2''piece,green chillies crushed-5,kudampuli-2,curry leaves-2sprigs,turmeric powder-1tsp,salt-to taste.
      HOW TO COOK
        Clean squid and slice into 1/4''sized rounds. Rub with salt .Wash and drain well.Apply the ingredients  for marination along with one tsp oil on the squid and keep aside for 1/2 an hour.Cook squid in sufficient water for 30-35min till the water evaporates .Splutter mustard seeds in oil and add onions, green chillies ,ginger, garlic,and curry leaves.Saute well till onions turn transparent.Add chilly powder and coriander powder and fry well.Add squid and saute well.Add grated coconut ,pepper powder, garam masala and salt to taste.

Transfer to a serving dish.
